Welcome to UK

Sitting in Noida, distance away from my home in the city of joy - Kolkata, I start with my first blog ever. It took me lazy years to actually start blogging. Even the nudge of my peers could not convince me to write, but today, an unattended rationale convinced me. But what should I write? My experiences in Noida and Delhi? May be yes, but still not very promising to start with. And finally the tube-light at the corner of my brain went on. I should write about the adventures of my journey abroad to the land of Queen Elizabeth - United Kingdom.

Like many highly ambitious boys and girls, I traveled to UK for my higher studies in one of the best Business Schools in Europe - Warwick Business School. It is amongst the top 5 biz schools of UK. The frenzy to and fro running through my veins as the excited heart pumped the agitated blood. The cabin crew announced "Landed at London Heathrow. The outside temperature is 15 degrees". Wow! I hurried to open the cabinet above my seat to take out my laptop bag. Dumbfounded! The whole cabinet was empty. OK, wait. Did I make a mistake? Did I keep it in the next cabinet? I opened the next one. No, not there. Then? All my excitement collapsed in a second. I told a cabin crew member about the incident. He replied, "Let all the passengers get away and then we will search for your bag." Height of stupidity dude. There surely stands a chance that one of the passengers could be the culprit. If they go away, how will I get my bag you block head? Although burning with anger, I politely made the crew member understand the point. He then made a call to the exit for a check. I returned back and opened the cabinet above my seat with a slim hope of getting it. May be God would want to save me from this tragedy. And guess what? God did it. I found my laptop bag in the same cabinet which was empty minutes ago. Was it just a mistake by someone or the result of the check that I imposed upon the fellow passengers. It remained unanswered.

I walked down the airport in a solemn manner to meet my great grandfather who resides in London. We took the tube towards Southgate. I had two big suitcases, a side bag and the already famous laptop bag. The suitcases were kept at two corners of a tube door. Passengers got in and out at every station. A lanky man in a decent attire got in. I do not exactly remember in which station. A stop later, he stood near one of my suitcases. I do not know why I was noticing this person in particular. Soon after the doors opened at the next stop, I saw him lifting my suitcase and attempting to get off. I jumped out of my seat and held my suitcase back shouting "Excuse Me!", however, not finding any reason to be excused. The man left the suitcase there and ran away. Thank you God, You saved me again. My great grandfather looked bewildered at the whole incident but did congratulate me for my alertness - the first thing you must have in a foreign land. Well, strange but true, this is how UK welcomed me.
